Mike Brakey holds a B.S. in engineering physics from the University of Maine and an Executive M.B.A. from Baldwin-Wallace College in Strategic Planning and Marketing. He has been granted seven U.S. and worldwide energy patents.  An expert in writing computer algorithms, he has copyrights on utility and energy analyzing software. 

Before founding Brakey Energy in 1999, Mike spent 22 years in the manufacturing industry including five years of overseas travel as both a trouble shooting investigator and as the project manager of two international manufacturing joint ventures.  Mike has been called upon in different Federal Court trails on energy patent conflicts over the decades as an “energy expert”.     

The prestigious Francis Crowe Society at the University of Maine recognized Mike as a Distinguished Engineer in May, 2014.  This honor is granted to persons who have made major contributions to advancing the art, science or practice of engineering. Past winners include Senator John Glenn, astronaut (2006).
