The Origins of the American Industrial Revolution in New England

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule, view media, leave feedback and see who's attending!

The early industrialization of America provides many inspiring examples of invention and innovation. This process began here in New England with the mass production of fabrics starting soon after the formation of the United States. Robert W. Hayden will share this history with you and give you leads to the many historical sites and museums that preserve this history, many of which are nearby. For people committed to life on earth, such real stories of creativity and achievement can be more compelling than tales of knights in shining armor.

Robert W. Hayden has created the website http://statland.org/Atlas/sites.html to provide a guide to some nearby historical sites connected with this talk. Participants are free to visit these on their own. But note that there may be an informal group visiting one of them the afternoon of June 21 after the conference closing. Those interested in enjoying a group tour should contact bob@statland.org or gather at the talk or at the conference closing lunch thereafter.
