Atlas Summit 2015 - TAS 25th Anniversary

Mike Brakey was contacted by an energy foundation five years ago.  He was asked if he might lend some of his time and expertise to investigating the rediscovery of a breakthrough energy technology first conceived in the early 1940s.  Around the time Ayn Rand (AR) was interviewing Manhattan Project leader, Robert Oppenheimer (Oppie), for her screenplay, “Top Secret”, he had dispatched Chicago physicist, Alvin Weinberg to a hidden government laboratory in the small rural community of Oak Ridge, Tennessee.  Weinberg was there to develop a secret technology that would have ended the age of petroleum.  Oppie confided to AR in their January, 1946 meetings that powerful “elites” vowed to keep this technology from ever seeing the light of day.  Just even personal knowledge of this ongoing research could get AR executed if these “elites” learned of it.
 
As Mike slowly unpeeled the layers of mysteries and clues from these past giants of the 20th century, he became more astonished at what he was unearthing.  The two most exciting aspects of this research was discovering the technology is a Geothermal Atmospheric Liquefied Thorium (GALT) chemical reactor.  The inventor’s personal biography is a close match to AR’s John Galt from the epic novel, Atlas Shrugged!  

Mike’s present theory is that AR executed the Atlas Shrugged code concept decades before Dan Brown’s Da Vinci Code!  With the aid of his youngest son Stephen, Mike has dedicated the last two years in working on a book to capture and document all his findings.  The working title is Kid Atlas.
